Biography & Contact
Wife and husband team Mary Jean Jecklin, a retired teacher and nonfiction freelance writer, and Kelley V. Rea, a retired attorney, devoted decades to working with people in need, refugees, and immigrants in the U.S.A. and abroad. They have traveled extensively in more than 50 countries on six continents. (Antarctica is the exception.) “After always meeting people in need all over our planet, we were inspired to create and (self)fund PACforKids. We are not openly or privately funded, endorsed, affiliated with, or supported by any political, religious, or other organization and there are no hidden messages in our website.”
Mary Jean Jecklin earned her BA from Clarke College, Dubuque, Iowa; an MA from the University of Dayton, Ohio; and an MA from the University of Minnesota.
Kelley V. Rea earned his BA and JD from the University of Michigan.
They were honored by National Geographic Traveler magazine as “Travelers of the Year 2012” due to their creation of this website.
Together they authored BUY THE BEST OF IRELAND: A Shopping and Learning Guide to Irish Goods and Crafts, published in 2004.
